Vick Dog Fighting Scandal 'Reminds Me of Other Cruelty' Says Dr. Alveda King

Contact: Jerry Horn, Priests for Life, 540-220-0095

ATLANTA, Ga., July 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., today said that the allegations of animal cruelty announced in the case against star quarterback Michael Vick highlight the disparity in societal protections for animals and unborn humans.

"The appalling cruelty to dogs described in the complaint against Michael Vick immediately reminds me of another kind of cruelty that is not only not punished, but is protected by our authorities," said Dr. King. "I'm talking about the incredible cruelty suffered by babies who are stabbed, have limb torn from limb, or have their skulls crushed in the womb by abortionists. The pain these children endure is undoubtedly excruciating, yet we close our eyes and look the other way in the name of 'choice.'"

'Yes, of course we should ensure humane treatment of animals," said Dr. King, "but shouldn't we also humanely treat humans?"

Hey dorks, what do you think??? an animal already born, or a baby that?s not yet formed, has no brain or whatever, which is more important? stop being freaks!!!! which is the smarter thing to do?? giving birth to even more children than there are already (unwanted, btw) or allowing women to have abortions?? and what of women who are raped and get pregnant? should these women have to give birth to babies who will forever remind the mom of what happened to her? if u think so ur dumbass and the probability of you being catholic and male or of an older generation is about 80%. So to all u asses, leave women and the right to have abortions alone. (besides, nine- year olds now get their periods and they have gotten raped since forever. should a nine yerold be forced to have a baby?? a baby can't take care of a baby u know!!! and the probabbility of her dying while trying to give birth is about 60-75%... her pelvis is not big enough for a baby to pass through and what about her schooling?? should she go to school pregnant or taken out of school because she was raped? should she be punished for an act of violence committed against her that she had no control over???)

Boy, the eloquence of the comment above surely makes me think "pro-choice" is the way to go. Fetuses do have brains - maybe not fully developed, but they do. This is why exposure to alcohol, lead, etc. to a fetus is bad. Please, inform yourself instead of sounding ignorant. Hopefully once you learn that fetuses do have brains, you will begin to realize that abortion is truly inhumane. Read up - you will be shocked to realize how young the brain begins to form in a fetus. And those unwanted babies? There are not unwanted. There is no shortage of families wanting to adopt. None. So that is a myth also. And the whole male thing - there are obviously a lot of women that are against abortion. Furthermore, considering men do have somewhat (read the sarcasm in there) of a role in impregnating a woman, they might be entitled to an opinion about this. Call me crazy, but it does take 2. Those 9 year old kids that get pregnant - that is like less than .001% of pregnancies. So don't sensationalize. The other frightening implication of all this is human beings are becoming increasingly objectified. Notice the increase in slavery, human trafficking, the black market for organs, cloning, extremely degrading pornography toward women, etc. Abortion is all part of the same deal my friend. Be afraid...people are just becoming things.
